July sponsor giveaway

We are Beca & Doug. We are southern babies transplanted to the beautiful city of San Diego. We must be on a perma-vacation since the beach is 10 minutes away, the weather is perfect and we are able to live out our dreams. The skateboarding is great for the mister, the dogs are happy and I get to make cake all day long! Life is good!

As crazy as it may be, Doug makes Sunglasses full time, and I am a pastry chef, although our sunglasses biz is pretty much a full time gig for me too, now. We also deal in vintage treasure, but we've had to put it on hold for the time being.

We find inspiration everywhere! Going to walks in Balboa Park, people watching, taking day trips, reading blogs, dreams! Everything!

Our favorites change constantly, but I am currently obsessed with reading the No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency series, Bravetart, Moorea Seal's blog, perfecting macaronage, making fruit smoothies, Super 8 {the movie} and sewing sunglasses bags! There are also the constants. We love South Park, Wu-Tang, road trips, A Beautiful Mess, Dainty Squid, Bakerella, Bike rides, our pack of pups and BBQs.

Thank Crystal for letting us be a part of your blog this month!
We would love to offer a 10% discount to your blog readers.
Just use the etsy coupon code WINDSHIELD for 10% off your purchase!

Hey! I’m Brooke. Originally from Indiana, but I moved to Texas to go to school. Then, I married a Texan and made a home. My education is in photography, and I am moments away from completing my Masters in Education. Yeah! I was recently hired as a Junior English teacher at one of the high schools here in town and I am totally stoked! I also shoot portraits and weddings, and pictures just for giggles.

My original art form is journals. I’ve kept journals since before high school. But during high school, they evolved. I collaged pages and wrote tidbits instead of full sentences. My dad gave me a copy of Sabrina Ward Harrison’s Spilling Open for my 19th birthday. Flipping through the pages of her journal created a sense of belonging for me. I knew I wasn’t alone in my crazy over-analytical ways.

But like most bloggers/crafters, we try our hand at all kinds of crafts. Besides journaling, I’m an avid crocheter. I love being able to complete a scarf while watching a movie with my husband. I love creating collages and playing with spray inks. Too Much Fun!!

Inspiration comes from everything. The world is full of so many ideas. The blogosphere is just full of so many creative people, and it provides a wonderful community for people to share ideas. I love reading. There could be a single sentence or quote that sparks an idea.

Current Favs:
Music- Passion Pit, A Fine Frenzy, Fleet Foxes, Sia, and The Black Ghosts
TV- Weeds, Ghost Adventures, Glee, Project Runway

I am very blessed to be surrounded by strong female role models within my beautiful family. My loving aunt who lived on Lake Michigan in a house that I thought was the greatest place on earth would take us for walks on the beach to gather sea glass, drift wood, and anything else we could find. We would take back our treasures and create works of art. I never watched TV at her house, and I never wanted to. She made it her priority to fuel our creativity. As children we put on plays, performed rain dances around fires, and played in the forest for hours. She told me years later, “Brooke Ann, the world gives us everything we need to create beauty; we just need to keep our eyes open.”

It’s her advice I pass on to you…Keep your eyes open.

may sponsors giveaway

Hello! The name's Izabelle and I live in sunny California with my smelly french bulldog, Lily. I'm 1/3 of Boojiboo, the apron making trio who loves all things retro.I've been sewing since I was eight but only started working for my Mom full-time a few years ago. Having her as a boss was a bit strange at first but I quickly adjusted. It's not as laid back as people think but that's just how I like it. My mom, sister, and I each have our own area of expertise (I do the computer-related things) but also share sewing, designing, and packing responsibilities.

I do what I do because it makes me happy. I tried doing the "normal" thing by getting a "real" job after university but it sucked the life out of me. No one should dread waking up in the morning, and now thanks to Boojiboo, I don't!

When I'm not working I'm either crocheting, knitting, getting tattooed, or hugging my dog.

To find inspiration for aprons I like vintage catalogs. Not only do I see clothing but also weird contraptions, accessories, shoes, and appliances! So fun to see how different things are nowadays.
For crafty inspiration I browse flickr.com and/or ravelry.com. I love seeing what others make and how they interpret patterns.

Staring at a needle and fabric for hours on end can get boring so I usually have one of these playing in the background:
Albums-Gorilla Manor by Local Natives, 21 by Adele, or Sigh No More by Mumford and Sons

I can knit and crochet without looking so I use that time to catch up on movies and TV. Some of my faves:
TV-American Pickers, Auction Kings, Dexter, and Grey's Anatomy (I know, I know)
Movie-Pride and Prejudice. I can watch it over and over and over...Mr. Darcy, I die! *swoon*

I'm so so so excited to be featured on Windshield Diaries and am happy to offer a reader an apron of their choice from my store, Boojiboo.com. They're all hand made by my mom, sister, and myself so rest assured you're getting an apron made with love :)

You can find Izabelle here: SHOP | BLOG

Hi, I'm Stephanie, I am a recent graduate just trying to fill my newly free time with crafting and blogging. I live in Ohio with my chihuahua puppy and boyfriend. I've just opened my shop, and can't wait to create new and pretty things as it grows!

I make fabric button accessories like rings, hairpins, and necklaces. I scour my local thrift stores for vintage scarves, clothes, and fabrics and turn them into fun jewelry. I have always loved fabric button jewelry, but could never find a style that fit me, so I decided to create my own.

Basically, my inspiration is whatever I think looks fun. I get a lot of input from my friends and boyfriend, but if I would wear it, then I make it :)

My current favorite music is Regina Spektor. I have been hooked on her older albums lately. As always, my favorite books are the Harry Potter series, and I even have an HP themed tattoo in the works!

One of my favorite quotes is by Sylvia Plath: "Let me live, love, and say it well in good sentences." I try to live by this quote every day, and my blog and shop are the two places I document my life and my interests. Please stop by and say hello!!

Stephanie is very generously offering Windshield Diaries readers 15% off with the code CAPOW

april sponsors giveaway

Hi ya'll. Beca here from Tumbleweeds Odd Shop and the blog, Tales of a Tumbleweed. I wanted to share a little about us for this giveaway we're doing on the lovely Crystal's blog. I'm 25 years old and live in beautiful southern California with my boyfriend Doug (the other half of the Tumbleweeds shop) and our brood of four legged children. I am a pastry chef, working part time in a Jewish Deli/Bakery and Doug builds high-end custom furniture, to pay our bills and feed our pups. We just so happen to live and breathe our little shop though, and have high hopes of "quitting our day job" and taking on this endeavor full time. In our free time we scour the coast for estate sales and flea markets, ride bikes, go to the beach, make videos, take lots of photos and eat lots of pizza along the way.

We've had this shop open for almost 7 months and although we are new to the world of online selling, we are having a blast learning all about it. Albeit, we have been making and selling functional art and oddities for years, in the real world. I love finding treasures and being able to share them with people who wouldn't otherwise know that it existed. I like restoring items for posterity, and discovering a piece of history. As for the leather crafting we do, it's important to us as artists to not waste ANYTHING. We find these beautiful scraps of suede and leather that would otherwise be thrown away, and turn them into something beautiful, functional, and unique. Inspiration is everywhere, from our memories, to what we find on the internet, from our friends and family, to the colors of the seasons.

Just as inspiration is everywhere we go, it's also in what we watch, read, listen to. It is rare that we don't have music playing or a movie going in our house. We are quite the eclectic duo, and Doug's iPod definitely reflects it. Currently frequenting the playlists are Kanye West's new album, Chris Hall and the Vicious Harpes, Loretta Lynn, Wu-Tang, Isaiah Toothtaker, Low, Jenny Lewis, Camera Obscura...just to name a few. We're also huge TV nerds, and can quote almost any episode of South Park, we love Dead Like Me, House, Kingdom Hospital, The Daily Show, Pushing Daisies. As you can tell, we are NOT TV snobs!! And if you're anything like me, you love checking out new blogs. Some that I frequent (besides the pretty wonderful bleubird vintage-red velvet-freckled nest-sometimes sweet blog-royalty) are Just About Anywhere, The Dainty Squid, Dinosaur Toes, I Go By Katie, My Little Artichoke, and Cakies. I think I follow like a million other blogs, but those are my favorites right now. I find inspiration constantly by the insanely productive and motivated ladies who write these blogs and admire each of them for what they have done for themselves and their families. I also think it's really wonderful to read the business-in-bloom type blogs, like Walk With Me, Darling, who are still defining their business and their craft and really taking leaps and bounds to reach their goals. It's really inspiring.

I am so excited to do do this giveaway on Windshield Diaries. We have been having so much fun creating unique designs for our "Bows and Arrows" jewelery collection. The collection is based off of a family love for archery, the rustic look of vintage arrows and the modern take on feminine bows, which are my favorite right now. We're happy to giveaway this beautiful braided arrow wristlet that attaches with a pretty bow. It is loose enough to wear low on your wrist, but will not fall off or get in the way. It comes in a variety of colors and styles. Not only that, but it made from 100% repurposed suede and hand crafted, making it one of a kind. And as always, our giveaways are open to international friends."

Oh hey readers! I am Kristin, an old soul at 25. You can catch my writings over at time won't wait for me (http://kristinechaos.blogspot.com/)!

I am a full time pediatric critical care nurse, part time tour widow, casual jewelry maker and lover of everything old. I am known to do the robot when excited and am eternally getting myself into awkward situations. I don't consider myself a cup half full kind of girl, my damn cup started overflowing years ago.

I am a registered nurse and have been for going on three years. I have always worked in the pediatric ICU meaning I take care of the sickest kids ages newborn (babies who have already gone home after birth) to twenty two. I was made to be a nurse and have known that for a long time. I consider myself extremely lucky to be allowed into the lives of these families in what is most often their darkest times. My goal is to be their light and support to the best of my abilities. I can't imagine a life in which I don't take care of children and their families. I have recently started living out my life dream of mission nursing and you can read more about that at my other blog (http://dissolveintolove.blogspot.com/). I am leaving everything I
know in May in order to give of myself completely. I am moving to Guwahati, India to volunteer long term with a NGO called Operation Smile and am excited beyond words. And because I know you were
wondering, I did do the robot when I found out. I was so happy!

"There is not a single moment in life where man cannot serve."-Mohandas Karamchand (Mahatma) Gandhi is my absolute inspiration. He dedicated his life to the betterment of his country and I admire him so much. Working with other health care professionals who have centered their lives around humanitarian work pushed me to take the plunge and follow that calling.
A band with good lyrics will always pull me in emotionally. I have been known to get lost in the words of: The National, William Fitzsimmons, Florence + The Machine, mewithoutYou, Have Heart,
Manchester Orchestra, Brand New, Mastodon, Death Cab, Mumford & Sons, and Orchid. Oh and switching to an electric toothbrush was the best decision I made in 2010.

When I was three years old I made my first attempt at running away from my home. I made it all the way to the other side of the apartment complex, quite a trek for a toddler. It was then that my parents knew my wings could never be pinned down. The thought of being a flightless bird still scares me more than the thought of field full of those huge spiders from Harry Potter...

Birthday Week Shabby Apple Giveaway!

What better way to celebrate the week I turn 30 then by hosting a giveaway from one of my favorite dress companies inspired by one of my favorite movies! I first saw Roman Holiday a few years ago, and it instantly became one of my all time favorite movies. I was an art student at the time, and seeing Audrey Hepburn running around the streets of Rome was like a glimpse into my dream vacation. Seeing the beautiful art and architecture, sipping Italian wine, eating delicious Italian meals all day long, basking in the Mediterranean sunshine! I still haven't made it to Italy yet, but looking through these dresses has reignited the romance of a Roman Holiday.

I'm sure you've all heard that Shabby Apple Women's Dresses launched a new collection a few weeks ago called Roamin' Holiday. There are 21 new vintage inspired dresses in the line, and they are ALL gorgeous. One of you lucky readers will win a dress from the new line! You will get your choice between either the Da Vinci dress or the Spanish Steps dress. I don't envy the winner of this giveaway because I don't think I would be able to choose between the two!

How to Enter:
-You must be a follower of Windshield Diaries to qualify. For your first entry all you have to do is "like" the Shabby Apple facebook page then come back here and leave a comment telling me you did so, and what YOU would do on an Italian vacation.

march giveaway!

Hello there, my name is Katrina Herron and I grew up on an organic farm in Michigan, interned in NYC for four months, got my first job in Washington, DC where i lived for four years, and am now living in Boston, MA with my husband and two cats, Zoë and Frankie. You can find me at my blog (http://www.thestoryofkat.blogspot.com) or my etsy shop (http://www.thestoryofkat.etsy.com) where i sell embroidered and sewn items for your life and your home.

I just turned 29 on March 4th, got married to my best friend in Scotland this past summer, and have been selling my handmade wares on etsy since 2008 when i started to get burnout from my day job. I sincerely missed having a creative outlet, using my own two hands to make things, and having the supportive community that art school had provided me with. Once i realized that my shop and blog could provide me with all these things, it wasn't long before I got hooked and decided to go full force with it.

I've been sewing/weaving/drawing/photographing/you name it since i was quite young so this feels like a natural progression for me. I continue to pursue a career in art history/museums but no matter what, i know that creating will always be a part of my life in one form or another because it's something i just need to do. That and i can't seem to sit still without having something to work on!

I find inspiration in art museums, crafty blogs, nature, travels, the creative work of friends, and in my own family history. Literal or not, it all becomes a part of my designs and influences my materials and technique so that the items i create carry that story on to each home they become a part of.

My current favorites include pinterest.com (way better place to waste time on than facebook and so much less drama!), food52.com, the fabrics of designer Anna Maria Horner, brussel sprouts (no seriously, i tried them for the first time recently and now have daily cravings), vintage sewing books, and the Isabella Stewart Gardner museum (best museum in the world, no contest), and of course Anthropologie.

I'm so grateful to Windshield Diaries for this opportunity and look forward to sending out the giveaway loot to one of you lucky readers!

The winner of this giveaway can choose any two colors from the ones currently available in http://www.thestoryofkat.etsy.com!

February Giveaway

To celebrate Valentine's Day, we're bringing you our largest sponsored giveaway to date! Please check out the awesome sponsors who are generous enough to bring you this giveaway!

Hi, I'm Katie Brown and my Etsy shop is Anamorphicecho.
I am 26, and I live in Kansas City, MO with my awesome cat, Dmitriy.  I love to travel, and am hoping to be able to do more of it in the future.  My mom is my best friend, and I am currently trying to teach her to knit, and am hoping to learn crochet from her.

I have been knitting off and on for about three years, but I have only started seriously knitting in the last few months.  Knitting is incredibly relaxing, and it feels great to complete a project, especially a challenging one.

I find most of my inspiration on the internet. I sometimes spend hours surfing for cool patterns.  Seeing all the other great knitters on Etsy really inspires me to become better, as well.

I listen to anything from Bob Marley, to Queen, to modern stuff like AWOLnation.  My favorite television shows are How I Met Your Mother and Bones.  The only thing I geek out over more than knitting is Harry Potter, I should really combine the two!  One of my favorite blogs is blog.shrinkle.com - she loves her cats as much as I do, and she is incredibly talented, to boot!

-I've only been on Etsy a few weeks, and I am really excited to start expanding my shop and creating more items.  I am super grateful to windshielddiaries for featuring me in her blog.  Thanks everyone, and happy shopping!

Katie is generous to giveaway a super cute knit Owl hat to our winner!

Hi!  My name is Ladipo but you can call me Ladi or Pattie (b/c pronouncing my name is hard enough in person ;p ) and I'm 22.
Well, I'm the youngest of seven, and new mommy and bride-to-be!  My mother was a fashion designer that dropped everything after she had children, and my dad was an interior designer and painter.

I wish I could say that my mother taught me to sew, but she didn't.  She didn't trust me to touch her machine, lol.  So I had to wait for the trial and error of college life to learn how to sew, but I have always loved paper crafts and would practice them regularly as a child.  As for drawing, that was something that I did only because my older sister loved to and I wanted to do something with her and have fun (she doesn't draw anymore though...bummers).

Right now I make handbags, stationary, and hair accessories.

The journey into selling my pieces truly started in 2007 right after I graduated from high school, out of a need to relive the onslaught of everyday stress. My life had fallen apart and I was determined to pick up what was left and make something out of it. With lots of support from family and friends I worked hard to make something of myself with my own two hands.  In the beginning plans fell apart regularly, but I was determined not to let anything stop me.

Inspiration for me is found through everyday life!  Sometimes even from crafting mishaps (those are my faves).

It is so hard to choose favorites but I would have to say that right now I'm really loving all things wedding related, lol.  I'm getting ready for mine, and I seriously couldn't be more excited!

I hope that everyone can see a tid bit into my life and process :)  Just so you know that my biggest goal yet is to meet Martha Stewart....and I will!

Pattie is giving away these adorable handmade bracelets:

Hi, I'm Jillian Pye and I'm 21. My etsy shop is called A Little Slice of Pye, and I also write a blog called Three for the Road.

I am a wife to Owen & a mother to Cash Lincoln, I recently quit my full time job (at a law firm) to stay at home again. We are preparing to travel the country as a family with my husband's music, which you can check out here.

I design accessories, clothing, & home wares and sell vintage clothing. I also model on the side every once in a while. I have been designing & crafting for almost 10 years. And I do it because I honestly can't see myself doing anything else--it is something I have tried to suppress for a "real" job but that never lasts long!

I get so inspired from my everyday life, I also love spending time discovering other cultures, obscure artists and seeing new places. I try to implement the idea that good design should be available to everyone.

Some of my current favs-
Music: Sufjan Stevens:The Age of Adz; Thad Cockrell:To Be Loved; Owen Pye: The Truth About Man (releasing 2/22/11)
TV: Pushing Daisies (I watch old episodes on netflix, over and over)
Books: Practical Theology for Women, by Wendy Alsup;
Blogs: (Just a few) The Snail & the Cyclops, Bicycling is for Lovers, A little Flock of Flummers, All that I Love, BleuBird Vintage, and Elise is...content
Magazines: Travel & Leisure, AliveMag St Louis

One of the biggest reasons we are going on the road is to share life and Owen's music with others! It is one of our absolute favorite things to make friends with new people and discover new places. I would be so excited if you would come out while we are on the road and said "hi" (current tour dates here) We are also working on tour dates on the East/West Coasts--if you live in these areas or know of a great place that we should visit or that Owen should play, please let me know! (jillianpye at gmail dot  com)

Jillian is generous enough to offer our giveaway winner their choice of ONE of the following headbands:

I'm Chelsea, I'm 22, and my etsy shop is www.wishfulness.etsy.com! I do keep a personal blog at http://lovechelsealauren.blogspot.com as well. :)

I'm a graduate student studying to be a therapist, and I run my little etsy shop in between working, studying, and doing homework! I definitely have a love of fashion, photography, and crafting, so my etsy shop lets me do everything that I love all in once place! I love: being outside, meeting new people (come say hi on my blog!), 90s pop culture trivia, art journaling, and hobbies that are not age appropriate (I love coloring and crocheting....not really the typical 22 year old pastimes. Haha). I don't love: snow, homework (who does?), or scrapbooking (I love all other crafts, and I WANT to love scrapbooking, but I just can't get into it.)

I opened up my etsy shop a few months ago -- it's a cute little shop that has tons of pretty vintage dresses and some handmade accessories that utilize vintage textiles. I opened the shop because I think there's a lack of affordable vintage dresses out there... I'm a college student, and I don't have a ton of money to spend, but that doesn't mean that I don't want to find pretty clothes! I figured there had to be other people out there looking for the same things. I try to keep my shop filled with a range of different prices and sizes so everyone can find something they like.

I find a lot of my inspiration online -- i love browsing through flickr! i definitely am motivated by other people's blogs as well -- when i see them working on projects, it makes me want to start working on projects as well!

I've been listening to a lot of Mumford & Sons lately. Also, I've had the new Sara Bareilles CD on repeat! My favorite band of all time, though, would have to be the Weepies! Modern Family and Gossip Girl! Those are the only two shows I really watch. I've been reading It's Kind of a Funny Story....I want to go see the movie when I'm finished. As far as blogs go,  I love Cupcakes & Cashmere, Yes and Yes, and the Rockstar Diaries..........along with about 1000 others, haha.

Let's be friends! You can find me in a million places:

I'm Stephanie, I'm 22, and my blog is Femmena Mala - http://femmenamala.blogspot.com

I am a soon-to-be high school English teacher, working through my student teaching internship right now; I live in Ohio (the heart of it all!) with my little Chihuahua puppy, Guillermo and my awesome boyfriend, Nick. I love love love tattoos, all things vegetarian, British chick lit, and my Kindle + MacBook.

I teach. I read. I love. I listen. I write. I speak. I dance. I do not judge. Why do I do these things? Because they come naturally. Blogging, in the past has always been a place to let out anxiety but it quickly turned into a negative space. Finally, I turned blogging into writing [publicly] about things that I love and that I spend my time doing. This has been an amazing source of creativity and happiness lately!

I find my inspiration in every day life. It sounds cliché (and so does saying ‘it sounds cliché’) but I really only write about things that interest me. More often than not that happens to be the books that I am reading, my boyfriend, my puppy, teaching, and of course bloggers that I admire. I get so much inspiration from other writers it’s insane. I love to absorb – it’s one of my qualities that I am most proud of!

My current faves in music are She & Him, this is a duo made up of M. Ward and Zooey Deschanel. I have a huge girl crush on her, and this only makes things worse. I am also loving Mates of State, who are a couple who tour the country together and making amazing, amazing music. I, also, am currently loving the Shopaholic series by Sophie Kinsella. I am obsessed with British chick lit. And my favorite blog right now? Groovy Vegetarian. It’s got the best advice and resources for all things vegan and vegetarian!

Last week I found a quote that I have been living by since: “Let me live, love, and say it well in good sentences.”  - Sylvia Plath. I would love to have you all come along with me while I document my life in script. :) xoxo

I'm Michele, aka "Chele",  I'm 30years old, and
SeaChele Studios is my Etsy Shop (http://www.etsy.com/shop/seachelestudios)

I'm a full time Art Director/Designer by day and an Avon lady, illustrator, crafter, and jewelry-maker extraordinaire by night! I'm also a newlywed - blissfully enjoying married life with my handsome hubby. Though currently stuck inland, I come from a family of Navy and Coast Guardsmen and grew up boating, fishing & beachcombing. I've always had a passion for the sea and loved being on the water. I pine to be by the coast and someday the hubby and I  hope to have a beautiful, little hydrangea-filled cottage on the coast where we can sail and shell to our heart's content!

I create jewelry, illustrations, photos and handcrafted soaps for my Etsy shop, SeaChele Studios.
I've been on Etsy since 2006 selling strictly jewelry, but this summer after our honeymoon in Newport, RI - I was re-inspired by the ocean and decided to completely revamp my shop. I've spent the last few months creating and posting new ocean-inspired jewelry, coastal and nautical photo prints, stamped and illustrated notecards, and handcrafted seashell soaps. I do it because I just can't not create!! :) It's such a part of who I am and what I do. Creating/Crafting and the ocean are my passions - and SeaChele Studios allows me to merge the two!

As it says right in my SeaChele Studios tagline,  my inspiration comes from the sea!!
I am, however, also endlessly inspired by the incredible talent and creativity of my fellow bloggers and Etsy crafters - what an amazing bunch of people!!!

Generally, I'm not much of a TV person, but currently the hubby and I are absolutely hooked on Boardwalk Empire. (oh, and Dancing with the Stars, since we also take swing dance lessons and love to dance together!)  I'm working my way through Gretchen Rubin's book, "The Happiness Project." And Danny Gregory's books, as well as "The Artist's Way" are some of my favorite go-to reads when I'm feeling creatively blocked.  My current bloggy faves are fellow beach-lovers including A Beach Cottage (http://www.abeachcottage.com/), Beach House Living (http://beachhouseliving.blogspot.com/), Sea Cottage (http://seacottage.blogspot.com/) and Isola Bella (http://isolabellashop.blogspot.com/)

One last fun fact about me is that for several summers, I volunteered as a Watchstander out at Boston Lighthouse. I acted as an Interpreter, giving tours to the public, as well as helping with the daily tasks of keeping a lighthouse - polishing brass, cleaning, painting, mowing, sweeping, checking water levels in the cistern, picking up trash off the beach, reporting the weather to the local Coast Guard Station, raising and lowering the flags, and general house cleaning and laundry in the keeper's house.

I'm Shawna Miller, I'm 27, and you can find my blog here: http://0ncemorewithfeeling.blogspot.com/

I have a fatal attraction to cuteness, drink coffee by the bucket, and I tend to wear a fancy hat. I'm married to the bass player in the band, Thrift Store Cowboys, and we have 2 cute puppies, Loki & Duo. We spend our days knitting, watching anime or syfy shows, screenprinting t-shirts, and having dance parties.

I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts, and I am currently working on my teaching certification. I used to teach at a pottery studio, and give private art lessons once a week. I like to try all sorts of new art techniques by teaching myself through books and YouTube videos. I am currently teaching myself how to do linocut block prints, so I can make the rad-est Christmas card ever!

I think inspiration is everywhere, but I am greatly influenced by music.

My favorite cd's right now:
The Weepies "Be My Thrill"
Amanda Shires "West Cross Timbers" (really looking forward to the new cd!)
Thrift Store Cowboys "Light Fighter" (they just released their new cd, and I can't stop listening to it!)
The Avett Brothers "I And Love And You"
Eisley "Combinations"

My Favorite Tv Shows:
Warehouse 13
Stargate Universe
You can tell I like to get my SyFy geek on! :)

I am currently reading "Confessions of a Shopaholic" to cure my shopaholic tendencies!

Fun Facts:
Sometimes I feel like belting out Garth Brooks songs.
I often get mistaken for famous people.
I have a roller derby name, even though I've never played: Cupquake!
I used to be in a punk band in college.

My name is Angie, I'm 26, and you can find my etsy shop here: angelinaladawn.etsy.com and my blog here: http://www.angelinaladawn.blogspot.com/

i currently live in kansas with my husband of 4 years and our two adorable kitties {although i'm really more of a dog person. i just like my cats :)} i love music and i'm a crafter with way too much time on my hands! i'll try making just about anything at least once, and i never seem to run out of project ideas.

i teach violin lessons to kids which is my life's passion, and i've been playing since i was six. also sew stuff. like bags. i just really really like sewing bags. my mom is an amazing seamstress {she made my wedding dress!} and taught me how to sew when i was in elementary school. i sewed on and off until college, when i really picked up sewing as a major hobby. i finally opened a shop after years of whipping things up for friends and family who kept pushing me to do it. i finally made the plunge when i had friends giving me fabric to make things out of.

i love vintage materials and unique patterns and designs. usually i just pull out a bunch of fabric and extras and throw things around until i get a clear idea of what design i want to do. i can't create unless i can make a huge mess!

my favorite music right now is the weepies and ingrid michaelson. they've been on repeat since september. and i love reading! richard russo is one of my favorite authors, and i'm obsessed with jane austen {but who isn't, right?} oh yeah, and watching "the wire" with my husband is our new favorite friday night activity. {i hope that doesn't sound too lame...}

I was elvis this year for halloween, which i think is pretty awesome :)
