lake george

We go to Lake George a few times each summer, and EVERY trip we stop by at least one of the two arcades on the main drag.

My favorite part of going to these arcades are the REALLY old machines, like this strength tester.

This Guide To Romance tester is hilarious. I love the classification terms they came up with!

This old mare is a ride for little kids...she's a bit scary if you ask me.

But the best one EVER is the Fortune Teller!

That sneaky old lady has a card up her sleeve!

She looks so wise, doesn't she?

 She read M's fortune.

Incase you can't read it, it says:
Your future life will be very sunny
I see in it a chest of money
Be free to spend it as you see fit
Because there will be plenty more of it.

You are a fortunate person. You were born under a lucky star and that will carry you safely through all of your ventures.

In time your love life will be something for the world to talk about. You will be extremely happy. There will be those who envy you and try to harm you. Just really learn who your true friends are and all will go very well with you. Your lucky stone is a ruby.

After the fantastic fortune, we walked down to the lake.

Had lunch on a deck overlooking the lake, and watched this parasail ride go by.

on the road again

M and I started the morning with a stop at the local coffee shop, Uncommon Grounds for some drinks. M got an irish cream iced coffee, and I got an iced soy chai latte....which as you can see I promptly sucked right down...

M had a bagel with bacon scallion cream cheese. It smelled delicious.

After our long and winding drive out to Sacandaga Lake, we ended up back at Lake George, where M's mom was dog-sitting for these two cuties.

This is Jack, a mastiff puppy. I love him. I wanted to take him home with us!

M's mom bought us this GIANT peanut butter cup from a candy shop on the strip.
Heading back home after another beautiful upstate summer day.

soft serve

When we were in Lake George recently, and craving ice cream, we went to Martha's across the street from Six Flags Great Escape. There was a sign under the neon bragging that they had been featured on the Today Show last summer when it was broadcast from Lake George. I have to say, I was impressed. They change their flavors daily, and have some pretty inventive ones to choose from. I had a Peanut Butter soft serve cone, and M had a Cotton Candy cone rolled in Cotton Candy pieces. He loved his cone so much that we went back a few days later and he was devestated to find they didn't have Cotton Candy on the menu that night. So he made me grab a flavor calendar so that we can monitor when the cotton candy will be back.
