Epic Road Trip Brew Tour Honeymoon 2012 - Authentic Louisiana Crawfish Boil

 After returning to New Orleans from Abita Springs, and stopping at a drive thru daiquiri place along the way,  we took a little walk along the bayou. We had some time to kill before going to our first authentic Louisiana crawfish boil.

 This is Heather's dad showing me the correct way to eat a crawfish.

 Heather found a dude with disproportionate claws.

My birthday was the previous night, and Heather's dad and aunt both had birthdays within the next couple of days, so they had a cake for us! It was a Doberge Cake, and it was DELICIOUS!

Epic Road Trip Brew Tour Honeymoon 2012 - Abita Brewery

Our first full day in New Orleans, our friends Heather & Tom drove us over the 24 mile long bridge spanning Lake Pontchartrain and on to Abita Springs, LA.

 Once they welcomed our tour group from the patio into the bar / gift shop, they provided us with plastic cups and let us fill our own right from the tap.

 After the tour, we went down the street to the Abita Brew Pub for some lunch.

What is currently the Abita Brew Pub used to be where they brewed their beer when they first started. It's much smaller than the brewery they use these days.

Meet Arthur

 We interrupt your regularly scheduled honeymoon recap (and we're getting to the best part: New Orleans!) for an important introduction. Yesterday Emmett and I took a 2 hour car ride with my sister so that she could pick up her new little puppy Arthur! Look at Emmett being so good on the car ride! 

 We drove through the outlying countryside of Utica New York. The best part about this puppy? He has the same mamma as Emmett, so they are half brothers!

 The most fun for me (and Emmett) was getting to see Emmett reunite with one of his litter mates! This is his sister Ali chasing after him. They hit it off right away and had a great time together!

 Hey, look! It's the mamma Tatiana! She seemed to know that Emmett was hers and she was playing with him in a matter of seconds.

 Arthur was worn out from playing with his older siblings. He was so good on the car ride, he spent most of it like this.

 Until he saw Emmett in the back seat, then he wanted to be back there with his big brother.

 Back at my sister's house and fully rest, it was time for more play.

Epic Road Trip Brew Tour Honeymoon 2012 - Headed for NOLA

 Leaving Florida, New Orleans bound!

 The day we drove from Florida to New Orleans and spent 12 hours in a car....it was my birthday. True story.

 For my birthday dinner, we dined a Whataburger in Tallahassee.
