Styles had a habit of sleeping in Emmett's crate. Who can blame him? It has a orthopedic pad in it! Sometimes Emmett gets really tired and climbs in to take a nap with him. They don't really get along otherwise, but when I see them sharing the crate it melts my heart.

Lakeside Farms Antique Fair

 We went to Lakeside Farms on Sunday to browse the farm stand and the antiques fair they were having.

 We walked away with this cast iron Uncle Sam bank.

 A stock holder purchase certificate from 1929.

 A vintage view master complete with 10 reels!

Uncle Sam's Grave

 Last weekend we went to Oakwood Cemetery in Troy NY to do research for Halloween part props, and found many super old gravestones.

 Did I mention that the Oakwood Cemetery is the resting place of the man that the character Uncle Sam was based on?

 Samuel Wilson, the inspiration for Uncle Sam was a meat packer from Troy NY.

 Oakwood Cemetery also has an incredible view...

...and an amazing groundskeeper's office. I wish I could live in this building, it's so beautiful. On the other side of this building you can see the same view as above, a great spot to watch sunsets.

Summer 2012 recap

Today is officially the first day of Autumn, and I couldn't be more happy. This truly is the most wonderful time of the year, but we did have a pretty terrific summer too.

Arthur joined the extended family right before Memorial Day!

We browsed a huge antique show.

We visited our friend's camp at the lake.

We saw some amazing 4th of July fireworks.

We attended the wedding of our dear friends.

We went to a car show and saw some amazing old cars.

We explored an awesome antique shop in Vermont.

We celebrated Emmett's first birthday!

We went to the track.

We went on a beautiful bike ride.

We got to hang out with Beca and Doug, friends that live way too far away :(

Emmett and Arthur had a sibling/mamma reunion.

All in all, it was a pretty good summer.
