Epic Road Trip Brew Tour Honeymoon 2012 - The Bean and The Pizza

After wandering around the city all day, we wanted to get some authentic Chicago deep dish, so our friends took us to Pequods.

It was delicious, but surprisingly not as cheesy as I had expected it to be.

Epic Road Trip Brew Tour Honeymoon 2012 - Walking around Chicago

Our first morning in Chicago, M wanted to get breakfast at the White Palace Grill. It was typical diner, but definitely not mind blowing.

This is our friend's cat, Simon. He's a little gentleman.

Epic Road Trip Brew Tour Honeymoon 2012 - Chicago Bound

We left Memphis the next morning, headed for Chicago. We drove through the flat farm lands of the midwest and watched dust devils kick up in the empty fields.

Finally, we made it to our friends' apartment in Chicago, where we were greeted by their amazing balcony view.

Epic Road Trip Brew Tour Honeymoon 2012 - An evening in Memphis

While we were in Memphis M came down with a terrible cold, so after our day of thrifting, car smashing, and sno coning, we went back to the hotel so that he could take a nap. I took this picture of him sleeping when I was starting to get impatient and hungry for dinner.

Eventually, he got up and we went out to meet his friend Chris for dinner.

We went to Boscos for pizza and beer.

After Boscos, we went over to the Young Avenue Deli where we met up with M's other Memphis friend, Kurt. We had a couple of beers, then played some pool and Ms Pac Man.

Epic Road Trip Brew Tour Honeymoon 2012 - Jerry's Sno Cones

M knew about this magical snow cone stand and made a point of driving us to this out of the way gem.

They mix layers of shaved ice with layers of vanilla soft serve and it is the most amazing, creamy, sweet, delicious thing. M got the multi flavor, and I had read on Yelp that their most popular flavor was Wedding Cake, so I ordered that. I didn't taste M's, but I can tell you that my Wedding Cake cone tasted like frosting. It was so good.

Those kids standing by the garbage can were making fun of me for taking a picture of Jerry's. They obviously take for granted how amazing this place really is.

Unfortunately, the day wasn't all sno cones and sunshine, while we were driving around we were rear ended. But the car was drivable, and no one was hurt, so we didn't let it dampen our spirits too much.
