Stay Focused

Then it was my turn to get tattooed by Rich. He made up a killer drawing of a camera based on some references.

 I wanted it on my inner bicep, but I was so nervous because I've heard it hurts. A lot.

 Once I got through the outline, it wasn't so bad.

 Shading done, time to add a little color and highlights.

4.5 hours later, the finished product. Better than I could have imagined it. I love it!

Warrior girl

Last week Mike finally got to collect on his Christmas present: a new tattoo.

 We went back to our friend Rich at Lark Tattoo and he drew up a great piece based on a ton of reference that Mike had emailed him.

 Mike was making a ton of great faces, this one however was staged.

 I can't wait to see this once it's fully healed. Thanks Rich! Up next: my new tattoo...

For our first wedding anniversary...

 Our friend Richie at Lark Tattoo gave us some ink. This was M's first, and I took this picture just as Richie started to work. I thought for sure I'd get a better reaction face, but M was cool as a cucumber and when Richie asked him how it was he said "that's it?!"

 Then it was my turn. It had been about 8 years since my last tattoo. It was uncomfortable at first, but then I either got used to it or my skin numbed out. Richie told me I have great skin for tattooing, which is good to hear because I don't plan on waiting 8 years again until my next one!

We had them placed so they match up when we hold hands. They look pretty cute when we are together, but when I'm off on my own little Pinky looks awfully lonely there...I may have to get some tattoo buddies to keep her company!

Last week I received a message from someone I've never met who tattooed my Vermont illustration on the inside of their bicep. This may be the most awesome thing that's happened to me yet in 2012. It definitely made my day to say the least. Thank you, Caitlin!
