Epic Road Trip Brew Tour Honeymoon 2012 - DC Tourists

We started the day with breakfast at Urbana, which was connected to our hotel. M had some eggs, which he thought were pretty ok.

I had the french toast, which I was disappointed with. Urbana's decor and mood is pretty swanky, so to be served diner grade french toast with a couple of strawberries scattered across the top...it just seemed like there was no effort put into it.

After breakfast we headed to the Tidal Basin area because the entire reason for this stop in DC was to see the famous DC cherry blossoms. But thanks to mother nature and her crazy idea of seasons this year, there were no cherry blossoms to be seen. They had bloomed two weeks before we arrived and were 100% gone. But we made the best of it and took in the typical DC tourist sites, starting with the Washington Monument!

The second disappointment came when we discovered that the reflecting pool was under construction and totally empty.

So we headed to the Lincoln Memorial, which was pretty beautiful.

  1. You have both good and experience of honeymoon. Sometimes you enjoyed and some time got disappointed. You both are looking very beautiful. Nice couple.

  2. I hope you're able to make a second trip when the reflecting pool is finished. Trust me, it was NASTY and needed the repair. It wasn't exactly a photo op anymore! ;-)
